Paid Leave in the US: Currently a State by State Issue

Currently California, New Jersey and Washington have policies for paid parental leave.  Today there is news that Oregon might be the next state to step up to plate. Hyped by the website Parents for Paid Leave and Mom's Rising, the bill in the state legislature was voted favorably out of the Senate Commerce and Workforce Committee. Similar to the issue of gay marriage, this may become an issue that is legislated state by state before the federal government makes a big enough action. Let's hope this bill continues swiftly on the road to being put into law.
